A clear look at the information IslamCal uses to run the site — and the choices that stay in your hands.

How your calendar choice is remembered
When you choose IslamCal calculated reference, North America · Central Hilal Committee, or Saudi Arabia · Umm al-Qura, a one-year cookie stores that selection in your browser. Your browser sends it to IslamCal when you visit so we can show dates and subscription links for your chosen method. We do not save this preference in a user account or use it for analytics. If you select “Keep this” on the home page, a separate one-year cookie and browser storage remember that you dismissed the initial prompt. You can change your calendar at any time with the calendar button, or clear these preferences using your browser settings.
Information we may collect
Our hosting and security systems may process technical details such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages requested, and visit time. If you contact us or submit a form, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and message.
How we use information
We use information to deliver and secure the website, diagnose problems, understand general site use, respond to messages, and provide features you choose. We do not sell personal information.
Other cookies and site tools
WordPress, our hosting provider, caching and security tools may use cookies or similar technologies for site operation, administration, performance, and fraud prevention. Google Analytics is also active on IslamCal to measure general website use. It may use a separate browser cookie and collect information such as page views, approximate location, and browser or device details. Our calendar preference is not sent as a custom analytics selection.
Subscriptions and events
IslamCal provides calendar displays, event listings, downloads, and subscription links. Choosing a feed may open your calendar app or another provider. That provider handles your subscription under its own privacy terms. Your website calendar choice does not change an existing subscription; you choose that feed separately.
Embedded and linked content
Pages may link to or embed content from other websites. Those services may collect data, use cookies, or track interaction as though you visited them directly. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Sharing and retention
We may share limited information with providers that help host, secure, maintain, or operate IslamCal, or when required by law. We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes, security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
You can change your calendar selection on the site and manage or clear cookies in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.
Children and policy changes
IslamCal is a general-audience educational resource and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. We may revise this policy as our services evolve. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
