Eid al-Adha is the festival of sacrifice, prayer, remembrance, generosity, and gratitude. It recalls the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and coincides with the completion of major Hajj rites. Fasting on Eid is prohibited.
Recommended actions
- Attend the Eid prayer and recite the prescribed takbir.
- Offer udhiyah if able and distribute its meat generously.
- Dress well, strengthen family ties, and include those in need.
- Celebrate lawfully while avoiding waste and extravagance.
