First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are among the most virtuous days of the year. They contain the rites of Hajj, the Day of ‘Arafah, and Eid al-Adha, and are a special opportunity for righteous deeds and remembrance of Allah.

Recommended actions

  • Frequently recite takbir, tahlil, and tahmid.
  • Fast during the first nine days as able, especially the Day of ‘Arafah for non-pilgrims.
