Ibn Abbas (ra) was asked about observing of fast on the day of ‘Ashura, whereupon he said, “I do not know Allah’s Messenger ﷺ singling out any day’s fast and considering it more excellent than another, except this day (the day of ‘Ashura) and this month, meaning the month of Ramadan.” [Muslim]
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fast the Day of ‘Ashura, for indeed I anticipate that Allah will forgive the sins of the year before it.” [Tirmidhi]

Action Item: Fast the three “White Days” (13/14/15) 🌙
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and the shining days of whiteness are the 13th, 14th and 15th.” [Nasa’i]
Qatada ibn Milhan said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to fast the white days: the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” [Abu Dawud]
Abu Hurayrah (ra) narrated, “My friend (the Prophet ﷺ) advised me to observe three things: 1) to fast three days a month 2) to pray two rak’at of Duha prayer (forenoon prayer) and 3) to pray witr before sleeping.” [Bukhari]
